Rove Fitness was founded by Eric Powell, an
experienced athlete and
Fitness Trainer. Eric obtained a degree in Exercise and Sports Science
from Texas State University, and has been
training for more than a decade.
His professional training career started when he was the Physical
Training Leader for a squadron of 800 at Lackland Air Force Base. This
experience allowed him to learn how to train various populations and
work with many different types of exercise methods. (Don't worry, he
won't scream at you....unless you want him to.)
After the military, Eric attended Texas State, where he also started
his first personal training business.
After graduating in 2008, Eric moved to Colorado, where he extended his
repetoire to include training at 9000 feet and working with those
with previous injury and disability. Colorado offered amazing
opportunities for outdoor recreational activities, and Eric took
advantage by summitting 14,000 foot peaks and trail-running barefoot
(yes, you read that right... barefoot).
Having the opportunity to visit and live in other countries has given
Eric an appreciation for enjoying life to the fullest, and not
obsessing
about calorie counting, weighing yourself every morning, or measuring
any given body part. Eric's philosophy is that you shouldn't be working
out
just to look good. Train right and not only will you look good, you'll
feel like you can take on the world. Rove Fitness clients are taught to
have a balanced perspective on how to live a healthy lifestyle. As Eric
would say, "It's not about working out 7 days
a week, 2 hours a day.
It's about eating right and training in the most effective manner."
